Terms of Service
01The service
Cuts is a platform for short audio posts ("cuts") of up to two minutes, published to feeds, hashtags and stations, where listeners can follow authors, like, comment, save and share. The service is operated by KVLK Studio ("Cuts", "we", "us") and launches on August 5, 2026. By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or using Cuts on any platform, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use Cuts.
02Waitlist & early access
Before launch, the only thing this site offers is the waitlist. Submitting the form does not create an account and does not guarantee access on a specific date. We aim to send invites on or around August 5, 2026, but the launch date, the platform line-up and the feature set may change.
Submit only your own email address. You can ask us to remove your entry at any time by writing to legal@getcuts.app.
03Your account
You can create an account with an email address and password, or sign in with Google or Apple; social sign-in is linked to your account by its verified email address. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
You are responsible for your account and everything published from it. Keep your credentials safe, review your active sessions in Settings → Devices (you can sign out any device there), and tell us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
04Your cuts
You keep all rights to the audio and text you publish. So that the service can work, you grant Cuts a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license — sublicensable only to the service providers who help us run Cuts — to host, store, convert, process (for example transcoding, waveform previews and transcription), reproduce, distribute, publicly perform and display your content, including in feeds, search results, stations, recommendations and read-along text. This license ends when you delete the content, except for the short period cached or backup copies may persist.
- Only publish content you created or have the right to share.
- New cuts and edits may pass a short automated processing and review step before going live.
- Public cuts are public — anyone may listen, share or quote them.
05Editing & deletion
You can edit a published cut; the edited version may be reviewed before it replaces the live one, and the original stays up in the meantime. You can delete your cuts and your comments at any time — deletion removes them from feeds, stations and search, though cached copies may persist briefly and backup copies are purged on a rolling schedule.
06AI content & labels
You may publish audio created with AI tools, and you must mark such uploads as AI-generated. We may also detect AI-generated audio automatically and label it. AI-generated cuts carry a visible label; you may not misrepresent AI-generated content as human, use AI-generated audio to impersonate a real person or mislead about authorship, or publish AI content that violates the community rules below.
07Music & copyright
Do not publish music or other audio you do not hold the rights to. On some platforms the app runs an automatic music-recognition check before publishing and may block uploads that match copyrighted recordings; passing that check is not a license and does not guarantee your upload is non-infringing — you remain responsible for what you publish.
Rights holders can report infringement to legal@getcuts.app with a description of the work and a link to the content. We remove infringing material and may terminate accounts of repeat infringers.
08Community rules
These rules apply to everything you publish — cuts, comments, station names and descriptions, and your profile. Do not publish content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative, violent, or that infringes someone else's rights or privacy. Do not spam, scrape, access the service by automated means, reverse-engineer the apps, or interfere with the service. We may remove content and restrict accounts that break these rules.
09Moderation & reports
Every cut, comment, profile and station can be reported from inside the app. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team; the outcome ("no violation found", "content removed", "cut rejected") is delivered to the notifications of both the reporter and the author. Edits to published cuts may be re-reviewed before going live. If your content is removed or your account is restricted, you may appeal by writing to legal@getcuts.app.
10Stations & following
You can build stations from hashtags, authors and individual cuts, and make them public or private. Public stations are visible to everyone and may appear in search and recommendations. Adding someone's cut to a station does not transfer any rights: playback stays attributed to its author, and if the author deletes a cut it disappears from stations too. Follower and following counts are public.
11Ownership of the service
The Cuts apps, brand, logo and software are owned by KVLK Studio and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use the Cuts name or branding. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
12Termination
You can stop using Cuts and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practical. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including licenses to content you have not deleted, disclaimers and liability limits) survive it.
13Disclaimers & liability
Cuts is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Cuts is not responsible for content published by users, and automatic transcripts and AI-content labels are generated by software and may contain errors. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (which, for a free service, is zero). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
14Changes & contact
We may update these Terms as the service evolves; material changes will be announced in-app before they take effect. Continued use after changes means you accept them. If you do not agree with a change, stop using the service and delete your account.
